Release Highlights

CVSS Version 3 is now supported

Vulnerability Assessment processing result is now more comprehensive with CVSS (Common Vulnerability Scoring System) version 3 support. CVSS v3 maps the 0-10 score ranges to five qualitative severity ratings:

  • None – 0.0
  • Low – 0.1 – 3.9
  • Medium – 4.0 – 6.9
  • High – 7.0 – 8.9
  • Critical – 9.0 – 10.0

Additionally, attack classification and impact details are provided in the result to facilitate protective measurement and remediation.

Fault-tolerant support for engine deployment

Release version 5.1.2 comes with a fault-tolerant ability for engine (module) deployment on MetaDefender Core. If there is any failure or malfunction during engine upgrade process, the existing engine will be available to continue operating properly. This feature helps prevent disruptions and ensures security and business continuity.

After the first failed deployment, the new engine version will be re-deployed one more time before the reactivation of the current engine version. In case the administrators remove the engine(s), the whole engine package(s) will be removed. Also, please be aware that this fallback feature does not apply to custom engines, which require separate engine installation setup.
